Today we announce that Entrepreneur First is opening an office in Hong Kong. The first programme there will kick off in July and we couldn’t be more excited. You can apply here.

When we announced our latest funding round in September, we reiterated that our mission is global: the world is missing out on some of its best founders — and it’s our job to find them and provide them with the environment that enables them to build world-class companies.

We know that we’re going to find lots of these exceptional individuals in Hong Kong. As we’ve spent more time there, we’ve become hugely excited by its leading universities, its burgeoning venture ecosystem and its unmatched business environment. As we’ve seen in London, Singapore and now Berlin, EF thrives in cities that are magnets for ambitious people around the world. Hong Kong is one the places at the top of that list globally.

We’re also extremely excited that Lavina Tien has agreed to join us as EF Hong Kong General Manager. Lavina is an entrepreneur with an extraordinary CV — with stints at Airbnb, Google and McKinsey among others. She and her team are going to be amazing partners to some of Asia’s most ambitious founders as they build their businesses.

The EF Hong Kong programme will follow the model we’ve pioneered in Berlin, which means that the teams that emerge from the first Hong Kong programme will pitch at our EF APAC Demo Day in Singapore in January 2019.

We can’t wait to see what they build. If you’d like to be part of it, get in touch.
