Today we’re excited to announce Entrepreneur First Bangalore. Applications are open now.

Entrepreneur First (EF) exists because we believe that the world is missing out on many — perhaps most — of its best founders.

We believe that there are at least thousands of people who could start world-changing companies, but don’t because of where they grow up. For some, starting a company just isn’t on their radar at all. For others, it is, but there are too many barriers that stop them reaching their full potential — from finding the right co-founder to meeting the right investors.

When we decided last year that now was the time to scale, we made a list of the places where we believe EF could have the highest impact. India was high on that list — and I believe that if we succeed in our vision for EF Bangalore, it will be one of the most important things we ever do.

India has an extraordinary talent pool. Half of Silicon Valley — not least Google and Microsoft — is run by entrepreneurs and executives who started life in India. And increasingly founders no longer believe they have to leave India to have an extraordinary impact: from Flipkart to Paytm, it’s clear that you can build globally competitive technology companies in India.

Our job is to accelerate this trend tenfold. We believe that a disproportionate share of the next decade’s deep tech giants will be built in India and we want to play a major role in making that happen.

EF Bangalore will kick off in January, using the same model that has proven successful in London and Singapore and which we kicked off in 2018 in Berlin, Hong Kong and Paris.

We’re already excited about the exceptional people we’ll get to work with and the extraordinary things that they’ll build. If you’d like to be part of it, apply now.

Matt Clifford is Co-Founder and CEO at Entrepreneur First (EF.) EF runs full-time programmes that fund the most talented scientists, engineers, developers and industry experts to find a co-founder, then helps those teams grow their businesses and raise funding.

We currently run programmes in Bangalore, Paris, Berlin, Singapore, Hong Kong and London. You can apply here.
